Dr. Davina Kotulski is a licensed clinical psychologist,
life coach, spiritual counselor, best-selling and Nautilus Gold
award-winning author and speaker, and nationally known LGBT rights
leader. She is passionate about helping people overcome obstacles
to make their dreams come true and spent 13 years working as a
psychologist in a federal prison.
As a respected leader in the LGBT equality movement, Davina
Kotulski has appeared in dozens of documentaries, Newsweek
magazine, USA Today, CNN, the San Francisco Chronicle, and L.A.
Times, Davina has shared the stage with civil rights leaders
Rev. Cecil Williams, Dolores Huerta, and Senator Mark Leno, and
celebrities Cloris Leachman, Dustin Lance Black and comedian
Margaret Cho, . She’s received numerous awards for her public
speaking and leadership including; the Saints Alive Award and San
Francisco LGBT Pride Community Grand Marshal. Her award winning
book "Behind Barbed Eyes"
shares the reality for women in prison and what works and does
not work in rehabilitation. The fact that over 50% of women
in prison have been abused sexually makes for an important topic
for the Sexual Healing with Dr. Marissa series to address.
